What is the difference between Himalyan and Peninsular rivers?

The catchment area of Himalayan River is very fertile, whereas peninsular River basin is not much fertile.

Himalyan Rivers

Thery gets there water from the melting glaciers.
They are comparatively deeper and have long courses.
They deposite more silt and this makes river beds more fertile..

Peninsular Rivers
They depend on rain for the water.
They are shallower and have short courses
They are less fertile.
