Let's make it simple,Homo means same composition Hetero means different similarly molecules which are having same composition of atoms are called Homoatomic molecules

Homoatomic molecules :

O2(Oxygen) ,N2(nitrogen) and O3(ozone) etc..

Molecules which are having different composition of atoms are called Heteroatomic molecules

Heteroatomic molecules :

NO (nitric oxide) , N2O ( nitrous oxide) ,SO2 ,CO2, H2O,N2O5 etc….
