  • The other parts are situated below it.

  • In this type of flower , the gynoecium is situated in the centre.
  • The other parts of the flower are located on the rim of the thalamus almost at the same level .
  • It is called perigynous.
  • The ovary is said to be half inferior or half superuor.

EPIGYNOUS

  • In epigynous flowers , the margin of the thalamus fuses with the wall of the ovary.
  • The other parts of the flower arise above ovary.
