*formed by intersection of reflected rays

*seen when reflected rays approach to the observers eye

*image gives more info. like color structure

*image can be straight or inverted

shadow-

*shadow is formed when the light does not reach the object

*no light enters the observers eye

*shadow does not provides info. like color

*shadow is never inverted
