Hypertonic soluion:

A solution having higher concentration of solute. It thus, gains water or solvent by osmosis across a semi permeable membrane.

Hypotonic solution:

A solution having lesser concentration of solute. It thus, losses water or solvent by osmosis across the semi permeable membrane.

Isotonic solution:

A solution having a concentration such that it neither gains nor loses water by osmosis.

Explanation:

Hypotonic solution has lower solvent concentration (less denser) than the other solution.

Hypertonic solution has more solvent concentration (more denser) than the other solution.

Isotonic solution has similar concentrations on both sides of the semi-permeable membrane.
