kinetic energy is energy posed by a body which is in motion. formula: 1/2mv^2. example: a car with a speed of 40m/s
potential energy is the energy posed by a body at some height.formula:
mgh. example: a box at a height of 50 m.this is also called gravitational potential energy.
i hope that this will help u and if it helps u plzzzz... mark it as the brainiest.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KINETIC ENERGY AND POTENTIAL ENERGY IS :

KINETIC ENERGY : It is the energy possessed by a body by virtue of it's                                              movement.
POTENTIAL ENERGY : It is the energy possessed by a body by the virtue of it's                                         position or state.

nirmalsamannan: Need some examples sister ......
nasari: ok....bt hw cn i edit the answ. nw...??
nasari: EXAMPLES ARE GIVEN HERE :
KINETIC ENERGY - A baseball thrown by a pitcher , An asteroid falling to earth at incredible speeds has an enormous amount of kinetic energy, An insect flying has a small amount of kinetic energy because its mass and velocity are relatively small.etc.,
POTENTIAL ENERGY __ A stretched rubber band , Wheels on roller skates before someone skates, A flute before someone plays it , etc.,
SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.... -_- :)
