Answer:

LCM finds the lowest common multiple of two numbers

eg; LCM of 12 and 10 ?

multiple of 12=12,24,36,48,60......

10=10,20,30,40,50,60,70.....

so ,60 is the lowest and common multiple of 12,10

HCF finds the highest common factor of two numbers

eg;HCF of 10,5 ?

factor of 10=1,2,5,10

5=1,5

so 5 is common and highest factor of 10,5

LCM= The LCM (lowest common multiple) of 2 or more given numbers is the lowest of their common multiple.

Eg: LCM of 12,18

common multiples: 36,72,108........

36 is the lowest. So LCM of 12 and 18 is 36

HCF= The Highest Common Factor of 2 or more numbers is the highest of their common factors.

Eg: HCF of 6,12

common factors: 1,2,3,6

6 is the highest.So HCF of 6 and 12 is 6
