Lok sabha -

  • The members of Lok sabha are directly elected.
  • Money bill can be introduced in it.
  • It controls the executive.
  • It is also known as House of the people.
  • Total members of lok sabha are 545 out of which 530 are elected from the state and 15 from UT.

Rajya sabha -

  • Members are indirectly elected.
  • Money bill cannot be introduced in rajya sabha.
  • It has no control over executive.
  • It is also known as Council of state.
  • Total members are 250 out of which 238 are elected by legislative assembly and 12 members were nominated by the president.
