Mass is the actual amount of material contained in the body and is measured in kg, g, etc... Whereas weight is the force exerted by the gravity on the object.
Mass is independent of everything but Weight is different on earth, moon and other planets. For example, the gravity of the earth is 9.8 ms-2, (meter per second power -2).
