What is the difference between mass and weight of an object. Will the mass and weight of an object on the earth be same as their values on Mars? Why?

Mass of a body on Mars will numerically be equal to what it was when it was on Earth since the matter contained by that body cannot change . But weight will vary depending on the gravitational force exerted on the body
