Sslc is state government examination,,, matriculation is about both state and central government syllabus.

SSLC :
SSLC was 11th standard with P.U.C (pre university course) for 1 year. This was for 'REGULAR SCHOOL GOING STUDENTS'.
Now 1 year is changed to 2 years. (10th and 2 year).
MATRICULATION :
Matriculation is equivalent to SSLC. Matric name itself suggest it was equal to 10th, but before there was no 2 years of PUC. So, probably it was treated on par with SSLC.
Matric is for those NON - REGULAR STUDENTS. ie) those students who could not continue studies in school but still wanted to attain basic qualification / continue studies...
