MEIOSIS :-it is also known as reductional division . In this the number of chromosome remains same.

it is of two types
Meiosis 1 and meiosis 2

Meiosis 1 :-chromosome don't divide from centromere only segeration of homologous chromosome occur.

meiosis 2 :- chromosome number double by the breakdown of centromere at anaphase 2 but become as before by the process of telophase 2

MITOSIS:-IT is also known as equational division .in this the number of chromosomes divided in two equal halves.
