Metals are malleable but non metals are non malleable. Metals ate ductile but non metals are non ductile . Metals are sonorous but non metals are non sonorous. Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity but non metals are not. Metals exist mainly in solid state, exceptions are there . On the other hand , non metals metals mainly exist in gaseous state, exceptions are there. Metals are mercury, iron, gold, silver, aluminium, platinum, etc. Non metals are oxygen, hydrogen, helium, etc.

Metals are hard, lustrous, malleable, ductile, sonorous, and good conductor of heat as well as energy.. like iron, copper etc. NON metals are poor soft , dull, not malleable, has poor ductility, not sonorus and poor conductor of heat and electricity..
