The only difference between amolecule of a compound and amolecule of an element is that in a molecule of an element, all the atoms are the same. For example, in a molecule of water (a compound), there is one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms. But in a molecule of oxygen (anelement), both of the atoms are oxygen.

Actually its not molecule of element, it will be better if the question is "DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ATOMS OF ELEMENTS AND MOLECULES OF COMPOUND".
● BASIC DIFFERENCES :-
◆ In elements, atoms are only of one kind whereas in compound made up of two or more different elements.
◆ The atoms of elements cannot be broken down into simpler substances by physical or chemical methods whereas the molecules of compounds can be broken down into simpler substances by chemical methods.
◆ Atoms of elements have their own set of properties whereas the molecules of compounds differ in properties from those of their constituent elements.
