a. Multiple cropping: It is a traditional fARming method to increase production on a given piece of land during the year.
Ex: Jowar bajira in Kharif season, wheat in Rabi season, potato is grown from Sep-Dec and one art of the land is left for sugarcane.
b. Modern farming method: It helps in increasing the yield of the land. Using modern farming agriculture inputs.
Ex: Use of HYV seeds, pesticides chemical fertilizers help in increasing the land productivity.. Hope this helps!

Hi Sujal!
The two major ways of increasing production and production yield are 'Multiple cropping' and 'Modern farming methods'. The differences are given below:
*Multiple Cropping implies growing two or more crop on a piece of land during the same year. Since Agriculture has seen a vast growth and improvement due to introduction of modern scientific techniques, therefore farmers are able to grow at least two main crops in a year namely: Kharif (rice, millets, maze etc.) and Rabi crops(wheat, barley, etc.). Many farmers are also growing a third crop i.e. potato during the free time. This is a better method of crop improvement than modern farming methods.
* In Modern farming methods, farmers extensively use modern scientific methods which include using High Yielding Varity (HYV) of seeds, more fertilizers, pesticides, improved irrigation techniques and threshers, harvesters, tractors, combine etc.! Farmers from Haryana and Punjab were the first ones to use modern farming methods. It is generally beneficial when used for commercial farming
Hope that helps you Sujal!
