Answer :-

Myogenic Heart :-

■ In "Myogenic Heart", the contractions are initiated by a special node of modified cardiac muscles called "Sino-Atrial node" (SA node).

■ Examples :-

  • Hearts of "Vertebrates"

  • Hearts of "Tunicates"

  • Hearts of "Molluscs"

Neurogenic Heart :-

■ In "Neurogenic Heart", the contractions are initiated by a nerve ganglion, situated in the vicinity of the heart.

■ Examples :-

  • Invertebrates like anthropods (Cockroach)

  • Some annelids (Earthworm)

Extra Information :-

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Acetylcholine secreted by the nerve ending accelerates the neurogenic heartbeat.
In neurogenic heart, the heartbeats originate by nevous stimulation.
If the nerve supply of the hearts of vertebrates is cut off or even removed from the body, it continues to beat.
