An optical aid is used in conjunction with the eye i.e using optical instruments for improving the vision.

Examples-spectacles, contact lenses,telescopes etc

Non optical aids

A visual aid is an instructional aid that presents information visually.

Examples-Poster, Slide,Film,Videotape
