Hii..

Oxidation is the gain of oxygen or loss of hydrogen. In the case of ions an element loose electrons in a chemical reaction and carry a (+)ve charge.

Reduction is the loss of oxygen or gain of hydrogen. In case of ions an element gain electrons in a chemical reaction and carry a (-)ve charge.

Hope this helps!
