What is the difference between parallel and series connection?

in series combination the current remains same while in parallel combination the potential difference remains same

In parallel combination two resistors are put parallel to each other,which in turn reduce total resistane.

It is find by: R=1/R1+1/R2+......

In series combination resistors are in continuous,which increase the total resistance.
