what is the difference between petrol and petroleum? please tell me

petrol is a refined product of petroleum. Petroleum is extracted from the earths crust and many things can be made out of it like petrol

Petrol is extracted from petroleum by subjecting petroleum in different temperatures and different temperatures means different constituents of petroleum like diesel, natural gas, etc. While petroleum is a mineral mainly deposited beneath sea which is formed by the compression and pressure of earth's natural phenomenon on small plants and dead animals over long period of time.
