physical change: substance don't change
chemical change: new substance will be formed
digestion is a chemical change in which enzymes are released and it breaks large molecules into small particles to make digestion easier. so it is consider to be chemical change

A physical change is that type of change which involves the changing the physcial properties of a substance, without changing its chemical properties..
For example, breaking of glass, heat of water etc..
In these cases, only the physical properties of matter are changed like shape, temperature and state.
A chemical change is that type of change in which the chemical properties of matter are affected..
For example, reaction of an acid with a base is a chemical change since the acid reacts chemically with the base, while simultaneously altering its chemical structure..
Rusting of Iron is also an example of chemical change, since a new substance is formed in this case..
Now, returning to your question, digestion is an example of a chemical change..
During digestion, the enzymes present in our digestive system react upon the food substance to make it small enough in the form of proteins to be absorbed by the intestine..
Hope this answers your question..

AryanVerma1729: *heating of water
swapni1: it is a physical change as no new product is formed
AryanVerma1729: You can check on Google if you want.. Its a chemical change since proteins are derived from it..
swapni1: i checked now, some answers are boiling of water is physical change but in some are boilimg of water is chemical change
