The difference between plant cell and animal cell are followed below:

Plant cell:

  • The shape is rectangular and has distinct edges.
  • ‘Cell wall’ is present.
  • The nucleus is present in one side of the cell.
  • Ribosome, cytoplasm and Plastids are present.
  • There are few number of Mitochondria.
  • “Amino acids, vitamins and coenzymes” are the products which plant cell can synthesise.

Animal cell:

  • The shape of animal cell is round and irregular.
  • Cell wall is absent.
  • The ‘nucleus’ is present in the centre of the cell.
  • Cytoplasm and Plastids are present. Ribosome is absent in animal cell.
  • There are large number of Mitochondria.
  • “Amino acids, vitamins and coenzymes” are the products which animal cell cannot synthesise.
