what is the difference between polariser and analyser?

there is no difference between  polarizer and analyser  they are given difference  name due to the different roles in optics . these are filter  which allow certain  direction of light  wave to pass through the filtrer .the polarizer allow only that component  of light which is  perpendicular of the plane of specimen where as the analyser  allow the component which is parallel to the plane of specimen.............
