polycistornic mRNA is present in prokaryotes and this type of mRNA codes for more than 1 protein/polypeptide. whereas monocistronic mRNA is present in eukaryotes which codes for a single protein . CISTRON is that segment of dna which expresses itself by forming a protein or polypeptide
