Present continuous Tense :-

i) To indicate an action going on now ; at the moment of speaking or writing.

ii) To indicate an action going on these days ; not necessarily at the time of speaking.

iii) To indicate an action expected to take place in the near future.

Example:

› › Nilima is cooking a delicious

Mexican dish for us.

› › Nowadays, Dhanesh is reading the novels.

Structure:

Sub + is/am/are + v1 + ing + object.

ii) to indicate an action that had been in progress till the time of speaking or had recently ended. it is used to emphasize the continuous action in it.
