in bilateral symmetry the body of the organism is divided into 2 equal halves by a single plane dividing it vertically or horizontally e.g. humans
but in radial symmetry the body of the organism can be dived into equal halves (any number of equal halves)by any plane (vertical,horizontal,diagonal)e.g. starfish
