what is the difference between rational and irrational numbers​

Rational no.are numbers which is written in the form of p/q where both are integers but q is not equal to 0 and irrational no. are numbers which have decimal expansions that neither terminate nor become periodic

An irrational number is a number which cannot be expressed in a ratio of two integers. In rational numbers, both numerator and denominator are whole numbers, where the denominator is not equal to zero. While irrational number cannot be written in the form of fraction.
