When incident rays fall on an object they reflect back this is reflection

If incident rays pass from one medium to another medium they change their direction. This is called refraction of light

nidhi291: it's okay

✯ Reflection ✯

  • ➷ The bouncing back of light is called reflection.

  • ➷ It involves only a single medium.

  • ➷ After reflection, only change in direction takes place.

✯ Refraction ✯

  • ➷ The phenomenon of bending of light is called refraction.

  • ➷ It involves two or more than two media.

  • ➷ After refraction, changes in direction and velocity take place.
