What is the difference between reproductive and non reproductive variations?

reproductive variations are inherited from birth because of the crossing over of chromosomes and fusion of gametes.
non reproductive variations are not related to the variations due fusion of gametes they can be from birth or after birth.
mutation in DNA sequence is the main cause for non reproductive variations.
MUTATIONS-SUDDEN inheritable change in the DNA sequence is called mutation.
mutations can be caused by X rays or any other high power radiations or any other factors may be responsible

Reproductive variation (occurs in the germ cells) is passed on from one generation to another. Non-reproductive variation remains limited to a particular generation (non-reproductive variation occur in somatic cells of the organism).
