  • A rift valley is also known to be graben whereas Block mountains are also known as to be Horst.
  • In Rift valley, the mountains are separated by deep valleys. Sometimes the valleys are wide basins whereas Some mountains in the block Mountain range rise over 12,000 feet mountains
  • Rift valleys are thought to have been developed either from the action of tensional forces in the crust or from the action of compressional forces whereas in block mountains due to the compressional forces, the middle section of the rocks is uplifted, resulting it to be higher than the surrounding land.
