Answer:
The difference between Rift valley and Block mountains are as follows-
- Rift valleys are lengthy - long, narrow depressions on the earth's surface bordered by parallel faults whereas Block mountains are created when the tensional forces make the plates on the earth's crust move indifferently.
- A rift valley is also known to be graben whereas Block mountains are also known as to be Horst.
- In Rift valley, the mountains are separated by deep valleys. Sometimes the valleys are wide basins whereas Some mountains in the block Mountain range rise over 12,000 feet mountains
- Rift valleys are thought to have been developed either from the action of tensional forces in the crust or from the action of compressional forces whereas in block mountains due to the compressional forces, the middle section of the rocks is uplifted, resulting it to be higher than the surrounding land.
