Mineral is a homogenous, naturally occurring substance with a definable internal structure, whereas rocks are combinations of homogeneous substances called minerals I.e.,rocks are combinations of minerals.
Some rocks, like limestone , consist of a single mineral only, but majority of rocks consist of several minerals in varying proportions.
