what is the difference between Rough endoplasmic reticulum and smooth endoplasmic reticulum?

rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) contains ribosomes in it so it appear as rough that's why it is known as rough endoplasmic reticulum

while smooth endoplasmic reticulum is known as so because it appear as smooth because it does not contain ribosomes
