The saprophytes are the animals which depend on the dead and decaying matter for their food. The saprophytes are also the heterotrophs they depend on other plants or penetrate into the other plant stem and absorb the food and nutrition

Answer:

Saprophytes depend on the dead or decaying organic matter.

They secrete enzymes to digest dead organic matter externally and absorb simple forms of nutrients.

Whereas heterotrophic have two sub types:

Saprophytes and parasites are with different modes of nutrition.
