the word vector always contains a direct with it ...

So in simple language we can say that any quantity which do have a direction and some magnitude ( numerical value) ,it is a vector quantity..
and quantity only with magnitude and no Directions is called a scalar quantity..

Some examples of scalar quantities include speed, volume, mass, temperature, power, energy, and time. A vector is a quantity that has both a magnitude and a direction. ... Some examples of vector quantities include force, velocity, acceleration, displacement, and momentum.
