Sex-linked traits are from genes that are on the sex chromosomes (the X or Y chromosomes in humans). This applies to things like color blindness, which comes from a gene on the X chromosome. One's gender can impact whether or how likely one of these traits will be developed. In the example of color blindness, men inherit it more easily, since they only need one copy of the recessive allele to express it (since they only have one X chromosome). There are Y-linked traits, since the Y chromosome does have genes on it, but women would clearly never have these traits since they don't have Y chromosomes.

Sex-influenced traits are from genes that are on autosomal chromosomes (ones that aren't the sex chromosomes), but their expression can be dependent upon one's gender. The trait is dominant in one sex and and recessive in other.Example : baldness which is dominant in males.

Explanation:

Sex linked:Sex linkage describes the sex-specific patterns of inheritance and presentation when a gene mutation is present on a sex chromosome rather than a non-sex chromosome. In humans, these are termed X-linked recessive, X-linked dominant and Y-linked

Sex influence:Sex-limited genes are genes that are present in both sexes of sexually reproducing species but are expressed in only one sex and remain 'turned off' in the other. In other words, sex-limited genes cause the two sexes to show different traits or phenotypes, despite having the same....
