subsistence farming is a type of farming in which the agricultural farmer produces the food grains for the self consumption so that he could be able to hear his family. it is one of the non market activity that is because it does not adds to the national income , subsistence farming is alao performed in India.

In a shifting cultivation a small plot of land is been cultivated temporary for few months, once they have harvested the crops from it, they move to the other plot of land cut the trees present their , burn the trees to make them into Ash and it is mixed with the soil to make it fertile and the other land which is been cultivated after few months this looses fertility so they moved to the other land it causes deforestation.
