overloading is a condition when high current ,more than the expected /rated value, flow through a circuit. during overload the circuit may burn due to joule's heating and damage any appliance. for example :if an inverter having 500 watt raring is connected with heater of 1000 watt ,this will result in an overload
short circuit: when current in a circuit take unintend path we call it a short circuit. for eg in a torch circuit if someone the two terminals of the bulb will not glow. also if someone the two terminals of the battery touch each other the torch won't work
