Difference Between Networkingand Telecommunications. Telecommunication can be defined as the transfer of data/information through a distance in the form of electromagnetic signals to one other receptive end, whilenetworking refers to the process of interconnecting devices to one main system mainly known as the server ...

The study of graphs as a representation of symmetric or asymmetric relationships between discrete objects is known as network theory whereas the signal is a function that transmits information about a phenomenon in signal processing.

  • A network is a graph with nodes and/or edges that contain properties. Network theory is a branch of graph theory in computer science and network research (e.g. names).
  • Any quantity that is capable of changing across time or place can be employed as a signal to communicate between observers. As examples of signals, the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing lists sonar, radar, audio, video, and speech.
  • Any observable change in a number through time or space may also be referred to as a signal, even if it does not convey information.
