Explanation:

Similes and metaphors are examples of figurative language that allow poets to help readers envision what is occurring while being efficient in word usage. Both similes and metaphors work by comparing objects, but metaphors are more direct.

Answer:

Simile:

(1) comparing of two things with using words 'like' or 'as'.

Ex. the dress is blue as like a sky.

(in the above example there is comparing of a dress with the sky with using words 'like' and 'as'.)

Metaphor:

(1) comparing of two things without using word 'like' or 'as'.

comparing two things which dose not have any conection but has one thing which is common in both. ( tear and river both has a common thing which is water.)

Ex. snow is a white blanket.

(in the above example there is one thing is common in snow and white blanket because they both have white colour.)

Hope it helps..
