What is the difference between simple and compound statement ?

Simple statement    has only one subject and one predicate. and compound   statement  is one which has two  independent clauses consisting of their own subject and predicate.

Explanation:

when i say predicate it means verb and when i say dependent clause it means it is not a full sentence so it need a verb and a subject and independent makes meaning on its own

let me give examples

 (Because he injured his foot is a dependent clause. It contains the subject he and the verb injured

   If my neighbor does not pay his rent on time… (what will happen?)

this is an independent clause cause it can stand on its own
