Basically, the term social survey refers to the search method that collects data in our way... Whereas, The term social research means somewhat same but it is need to go through many topics to get satisfaction such as Site maping, social statistics...Etc....

The social surveys are concerned with specific persons, specific places, specific problems, and situations, whereas the social researchers are inclined to make the more general and abstract problems as their principal concern

Surveys collect primary data, ie., directly from respondents. Research, on the other hand, comprises both primary and secondary data.

Social research is a broad concept of studies that involves social phenomena research. Survey research is a meta-concept, but a meta-concept of applied qualitative & quantitative methods in a research design (methodology) based on acquiring the information through social means.
