what is the difference between speed and average speed

speed=distance/time so at any instant of time it vary...
while avg speed is SUM OF ALL SPEED divided by 2

speed = distance/ time                                                                                                  speed of an object that is moving is a quantity that tells how fast it is moving.
average speed= total time/ total distance
average speed is the time interval of abject divided by total distance.
like when you are travelling in a car...and any one asks that whts the speed..then you said its 40 km/h.but anyone asks for average speed then you cant tell the specific speed.
