speed has no direction .it is scalar quantity. but velocity has direction so it is vector quantity

Jyotibharti: Speed of a body gives us the idea of how slow or fast a body is moving. Speed is distance travelled by time taken. It is a scalar quantity because it only has magnitude.
Jyotibharti: Velocity not only gives us the idea of how slow or fast the car is moving but also the direction in which the body is moving. Velocity is distance travelled in a given direction by time taken. It is a vector quantity because it has both magnitude as well as direction
