square is a product of 2 units(example: length and breadth) . hence ². Cube is a product of 3 units (example: length , breadth and height) hence ³

the space occupied by an object is volume. so it will be in ^3 in the final answer.

however, the area is the sum of the areas of all the faces of the solid figure. It is measured in square units.
