static electricity is defined as the induction of a charge on a surface by another charged surface.
eg.

when we put a comb in a dry hair and take it near to pieces a paper then there is induction of charge occur eg of static electricity.

static electricity is caused by build up of electrical charges on surface of objects while current electricity is phenomenon from the flow of current along a conductor.
