The working of the distributed system is very complex. The user should not be concerned about these complexities. Hiding the complexities from the user is known as the transparency of the distributed system. There are different kinds of transparencies.
Syntactic transparency
In this the remote procedure and a local procedure call must have the same syntax.
Semantic transparency
In this the semantics of a remote procedure call and local procedure call must be identical.
