The difference between syrinx and larynx in Aves are stated below:
- For animals belonging to other classes of Phylum Chordata of Kingdom Animalia, the voice box is referred to as the larynx. But for the class Aves (birds), the larynx is not referred to as the voice box. The windpipe or the larynx extends downwards and the structure is held with tissue folding and cartilage.
- Whereas, the voice box in Aves (birds) is known as the Syrinx. The larynx extends downwards to form the syrinx. This tube is also supported with the help of cartilage and folds of tissues.
Hence, the difference between the syrinx and larynx in Aves classification has been stated above.
