What is the difference between systole and diastole

The contraction phase of the heart is systole ,and it is followed by a relaxing expansion phase is diastole.

Diastole :

Cardiac diastole is the period of time when the heart relaxes after contraction in preparation for refilling with circulating blood.
Systole :

Systole is the contraction phase of the cardiac cycle (contrast with diastole) that results in the ejection of blood into an adjacent chamber or vessel.
