TANGENT :-
tangent touches only one point of a circle and always passes through the circumference making an angle of 90 with radius drawn at that point
SECANT :-
it passes through the circle and touches the circle in 2 points .

The major difference between a tangent and a secant is that a tangent intersects one point and a secant intersects more than two points.
Step-by-step explanation:
Given:
tangent and secant of a circle
To find:
difference between the two segments
Solution:
Tangents and Secants are segments that are drawn from the outside of a circle.
However, the major difference between both the segments is that a tangent touches or intersects only one point of a circle.
And a secant intersects two points or touches two points of a circle.
But both these segments are drawn from the outside of a circle, and hence create confusion.
