Plant and animal material decompose into garden soil through a process called composting.

c1h2a3n4: ManualComposting with worms is a necessarily cooler process with temperatures ranging between 50-90°F. The downside to less heat is that vermicomposting will not kills any pathogens present in the food waste, manure, or whatever you’re feeding your worms.

Manure is any organic matter in a partially or fully decomposed state and can be added to the soil to amend it.
Compost is just a type of manure made by controlled decomposition of mostly plant matter .
